Trinity
Hills of Knoxville is situated in the foothills of the Great Smoky
Mountains in East Knoxville, Tennessee. Our site is located at 4611
Asheville Highway between Rutledge Pike and I-40 (Exit 394). The Eastern
edge of the City of Knoxville contains a wonderful array of housing.
Some homes date from the early 1900s, but the real boom began in the
mid-1920s when a group of investors purchased the McDonald farm on
the banks of the Holston River. That resulted in the creation of Holston
Hills subdivision and Holston Hills Country Club, whose 1928 Donald
Ross designed-golf course is rated among the top classic courses in
the nation. Many opulent homes were built during the roaring ‘20s.
Following the stock market crash of 1929, smaller cottage-style homes
were built … many of stone or brick. Then came the post WWII
building boom which saw the development of most of the area’s
housing (early 1940s through early 1960s) in the form of charming cottages
and custom ranchers varying from about 1,200 to 5,000+ square feet.
Chilhowee Hills and other surrounding neighborhoods also developed
during this time period. Furthermore, new homes continue to be built,
which really means there is something for most everyone in terms of
age, size, and style of home. Home prices in the area also range widely
from about $50,000 to $400,000. East Knoxville is a favorite of folks
who work downtown or at the University because of the 10-minute, low
traffic commute. The drive to Knoxville Center area shopping and restaurants
is only 5 minutes. Truly something for everyone!
